Upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 And Fold 6 To Sport Bigger External Display; Report

In August of this year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, showcasing their typical incremental improvements. Notably, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 now features a more substantial cover display, expanding from 1.9 inches to 3.4 inches, an enhancement long awaited by users. Recent speculations suggest an even larger screen may be in store for the following year.

Tipster Ross Young, also the co-founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), predicts that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 will boast larger displays compared to their predecessors. This expansion applies to both the cover display and the primary display inside.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover display is anticipated to reach 3.6 inches, a notable increase from the 3.4-inch display on the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Unfortunately, specific details regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s cover display are yet to be disclosed. A larger cover display aligns with trends seen in competing brands like Motorola and OPPO, who have successfully incorporated highly functional cover displays in their Flip phones.

While larger displays on foldable can offer increased functionality without unfolding the phone, Samsung’s historic pace of upgrades in its foldable lineup raises questions about the extent of these advancements.

Expect Enhanced Camera Capabilities

In the camera department, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is expected to receive substantial upgrades. Reports indicate that Samsung is currently testing prototype models of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 equipped with a 50MP primary camera, a significant leap from the Galaxy Z Flip 5’s 12MP camera.

As the competition among foldable phones intensifies, Samsung’s move to enhance both display size and camera capabilities signals a proactive stance in staying at the forefront of innovation within the evolving foldable smartphone landscape.
