Apple Launches iPhone 17 Pro Series With A19 Pro Chip, Vapor Cooling, And Ceramic Shield 2 Display

Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max at its highly anticipated “Awe Dropping” event on Tuesday. The Pro models were introduced alongside the standard iPhone 17 and the brand-new iPhone 17 Air. Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed the devices during a pre-recorded keynote streamed on Apple’s website and YouTube channel, marking the next big step in the company’s flagship smartphone lineup.

iPhone 17 Pro Series: Price and Availability

The iPhone 17 Pro is priced in the US starting at $1,099 for the 256GB storage model, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199 for the same capacity. In India, prices begin at Rs. 1,34,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro and Rs. 1,49,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Color options include Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver, bringing a fresh look to Apple’s Pro range. Customers can begin pre-ordering from September 12, with global sales scheduled to start on September 19.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: Design and Build

This year, Apple has reintroduced an aluminum build for the Pro models, moving away from the titanium body used in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro. Interestingly, the newly launched iPhone 17 Air now adopts titanium as part of its lightweight design focus.

Both the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max showcase a new unibody design with a full-width camera plateau on the rear panel, giving the devices a more streamlined and uniform appearance.

Performance: Powered by A19 Pro and Vapor Chamber Cooling

At the heart of the iPhone 17 Pro series is Apple’s all-new A19 Pro chipset. Built for demanding workloads and AI-powered tasks, it features a six-core CPU and a six-core GPU, each integrated with neural accelerators. Apple claims this is its “most capable” smartphone processor yet, offering up to 40% better sustained performance compared to its predecessors.

In a first for iPhones, the Pro models also debut a vapor chamber cooling system. This is designed to maintain peak performance during gaming, video editing, and other processor-heavy activities.

Display and Durability

The iPhone 17 Pro sports a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display, while the Pro Max features a larger 6.9-inch screen. Both panels support ProMotion with up to 120Hz refresh rate and boast 3,000 nits peak outdoor brightness for excellent visibility in sunlight.

Apple also introduced Ceramic Shield 2, featuring a new in-house coating that promises three times better scratch resistance than earlier versions.

With these updates, Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro series brings a blend of refined design, groundbreaking performance, and enhanced durability, setting the stage for its flagship dominance in 2025.
