RENK Group AG, Germany’s supplier of drive solutions for military and civil applications, on Monday inaugurated its new production facility at Shoolagiri in Krishnagiri distrct .
This investment represents a significant milestone in RENK’s commitment to the Indian market and reinforces the company’s position as a key partner in India’s defence modernisation and industrial growth, says a release.
In April 2024, RENK announced its expansion in Tamil Nadu to build a 7,000 sq m production site for military and civil applications in the Defense Industrial Corridor. The company did not give investment numbers.
From the Arjun tank to the INS Vikrant, RENK has long supported India’s defence modernisation. The Shoolagiri facility marks the next chapter in this strategic partnership. “This facility is more than just a production location – it is a statement of trust, partnership, and future ambition,” said Praveen Mohan, CEO of RENK Gears Private Ltd. (RENK India).
RENK’s dual-focus strategy includes “local-for-local” solutions for Indian industries, such as gear units for cement mills, gearboxes for the power and “new energy” sectors, and specialised couplings, says a release.
RENK Group AG serves, in particular, customers in industries for military vehicles, naval, civil marine, and industrial applications focused on energy. In the fiscal year 2024, it generated revenue of EUR 1.14 billion.
