Amazon’s 61-year-old founder and world’s second richest billionaire, Jeff Bezos, is headed for his second marriage. The techpreneur is all set to tie knots with 55-year-old fiance Lauren Sanchez, an American journalist who rose to fame with her entertainment reportage. Having dated since 2018 while they were still married. In 2019, both Bezos and Sanchez filed for divorce with their respective partners, MacKenzie Scott and Patrick Whitesell. The duo got engaged on May 22, 2023. Per reports, the couple will tie knots in Venice, Italy, in a fairytale wedding, possibly in June.

According to the sources cited in the report, the invitation for the marriage has been dispatched to guests. Page 3 gossip is abuzz about fellow billionaire and ‘friend’ Elon Musk being invited. Earlier in 2024, there were rumors of a $600 million wedding, which Bezos, who owns the Washington Post, debunked the reports on X/Twitter. Oblivious of the wedding (and invite), Elon Musk also reacted to the tweet.

Bezos (furiously) wrote,

Furthermore, this whole thing is completely false—none of this is happening. The old adage “don’t believe everything you read” is even more true today than it ever has been. Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there, folks, and don’t be gullible.

Will be interesting to see if all the outlets that “covered” and re-reported on this issue a correction when it comes and goes and doesn’t happen.

Musk (begrudgingly) reacted,

That said, I hope you do hold an epic wedding. It’s nice to know that epic events are happening somewhere in the world, even if one is not present. A world where there are amazing events somewhere is better than a world where they are happening nowhere.
