Samsung is gearing up to expand its foldable lineup with the long-rumored Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra, officially teased for the first time. While the company did release a limited Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition last year, its restricted availability kept it from being a full-fledged launch. Now, the Fold 7 Ultra is expected to debut later this year alongside the standard Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and Z Flip 7 FE, likely at an in-person event in New York slated for early July.

Samsung’s latest teaser for its upcoming Unpacked event hints at major changes driven by user feedback, especially regarding screen size—suggesting that the next foldable may feature a larger display. While the company hasn’t confirmed the specs, the promotional material refers to “the Next Chapter of Ultra,” and an animation briefly reveals the silhouette of what appears to be the Galaxy Z Fold 7. Despite the clear visual clues, Samsung avoids directly naming the Fold series, opting instead for cryptic references to a mysterious “Galaxy Ultra.”

This deliberate ambiguity has sparked speculation about Samsung’s intentions. The choice to highlight an “Ultra experience” without explicitly tying it to the existing Fold lineup has led some to believe the company might be preparing a rebrand or even teasing an entirely new category of device. Whether it’s a marketing ploy or a genuine shift in product strategy remains to be seen, but the vague language and unconventional framing have certainly piqued interest and stirred debate among fans and industry watchers alike.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 will more than likely be my next smartphone purchase.
The rumoured 4400 mah battery is an absolute joke though. Indefensible in my opinion.

Leaked details suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will come with a larger 6.5-inch cover display and an expansive 8.2-inch foldable screen, significantly improving the device’s multitasking and media capabilities. The official launch is expected in the second week of July, and while Samsung hasn’t confirmed the date, insiders report a much thinner design—potentially as slim as 4.54mm when unfolded and around 9mm when folded. These changes represent a major refinement over the Fold 6, made possible by better internal component distribution and screen real estate.
However, not all areas of the device are getting an upgrade. Despite the slimmer and sleeker profile, the Z Fold 7 is expected to retain the same 4,400 mAh battery capacity found in previous models. While this may disappoint users seeking longer battery life, Samsung is reportedly counting on improved chipset efficiency and software optimisation to deliver better performance without increasing battery size. Overall, the Fold 7 seems set to offer meaningful design and usability upgrades, even as questions about durability and endurance linger.
