Sita, an IT provider for the air transport industry, announced satellite connectivity for over 130 countries, including India, during blackouts, natural disasters, or in remote or infrastructure-limited locations.
It uses low earth orbit (LEO) satellites to deliver high-bandwidth, low-latency communications that keep airport systems running.
Stating that recent global events have shown the vulnerability of traditional fibre and terrestrial networks, Sita said its new satellite solution addresses these risks directly.
SITA Managed Satellites provides a way to deploy connectivity wherever needed, including off-airport locations, aircraft maintenance hangars, cargo hubs, and even remote sites without existing digital infrastructure. It also unlocks temporary service for new route openings, seasonal operations, or rapid emergency deployments, ensuring that ground crews and systems are never out of touch.
